Jimdo to WordPress, in one import

Jimdo has no export that WordPress can read. The usual advice is to rebuild by hand: copy each page and blog post, save every image, upload them again and fix the links.

Decamp reads your published Jimdo Creator site and writes a standard WordPress export file (WXR). WordPress's own importer creates your pages and posts and pulls every image into the media library.

1. Export with Decamp

Paste your Jimdo address (your own domain or name.jimdofree.com). The free inventory counts pages, blog posts and images, and tells you if your site uses Jimdo's newer builder, which isn't supported yet.

Paste the short verification code into any text block on your Jimdo home page and publish. Delete it after the check.

Look at the free preview, pay once and download the ZIP.

2. Import into WordPress

Tools → Import → WordPress → Run Importer (install it if asked). Upload wordpress/wordpress-import.xml from the ZIP.

Tick “Download and import file attachments”. Pages arrive as pages, blog posts as posts with their original dates.

3. Move the domain and keep your rankings

Point your domain at the new host. Jimdo blog posts live at /YYYY/MM/DD/title/ and pages at /page-name/: install the Redirection plugin and import redirects/wordpress-redirection-plugin.csv so old links and Google results land on the right page.

Rebuild forms, the guestbook and any custom HTML widgets on WordPress; the export report lists the pages that had them.

Redirect files included: Redirection plugin CSV · .htaccess · Nginx. Old links and Google results keep working, and our free redirect checker confirms every one after the move.

Questions

Does the Jimdo design come across?
No. You get the content (text, headings, lists, tables, images, videos) clean, ready for a WordPress theme. Layouts from one builder never map onto another.

My site is on jimdosite.com. Does it work?
That's Jimdo's newer builder, which Decamp doesn't read yet. The inventory says so before you pay anything, and you can join the waiting list.
