Move your Wix blog to Squarespace

Squarespace's importer accepts WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr and a few others. Wix isn't on the list, and Wix won't export your posts anyway.

Decamp converts your Wix blog into a WordPress export file, which Squarespace imports directly, with your posts, images, categories, tags and publish dates.

Free inventory and 3-post preview. One payment per site when you download.

1. Export your Wix site with Decamp

Paste your Wix address into Decamp. The free inventory lists how many posts, pages, images, categories and tags we found, plus anything that can't move (store products, bookings, forms).

Prove the site is yours by adding one meta tag in Wix (Pages → ⋯ → SEO basics → Advanced SEO → Additional tags) and publishing.

Check the free preview of your three newest posts, then pay once and pick “Squarespace” as the destination. That sets the new URL pattern used for internal links and the redirect file.

Download the ZIP. Keep your Wix site live until the import below is finished.

2. Import into Squarespace

In Squarespace: Settings → Import & Export → Import → WordPress. Choose “Upload a file” and select wordpress/wordpress-import.xml from the ZIP.

Squarespace creates a new blog page with your posts and copies the images into your site. Imported pages go into the Not Linked section, so link the ones you want in your navigation.

Run the import while your Wix site is still live, because Squarespace fetches the images from Wix.

3. Add URL mappings

Settings → Developer tools → URL Mappings (older sites: Settings → Advanced → URL Mappings). Paste the contents of redirects/squarespace-url-mappings.txt. Each line is already in Squarespace's “/old -> /new 301” format.

Choose “Squarespace” as the destination in Decamp so the new URLs match Squarespace's /blog/slug pattern. If your blog page has a different URL slug, adjust it in Squarespace or search-and-replace in the file.

Redirect files included: Squarespace URL Mappings · CSV. Old Wix links and Google results keep working.

Questions

Do Wix pages come across too?
Yes. Pages are in the same file. Their text and images arrive, and you rebuild the layout with Squarespace sections.

What about my Wix store?
Products aren't part of the export. Squarespace has its own product CSV import, and Wix can export products as CSV from the dashboard.
