Move your Wix blog to Ghost

1. Export your Wix site with Decamp

Paste your Wix address into Decamp. The free inventory lists how many posts, pages, images, categories and tags we found, plus anything that can't move (store products, bookings, forms).

Prove the site is yours by adding one meta tag in Wix (Pages → ⋯ → SEO basics → Advanced SEO → Additional tags) and publishing.

Check the free preview of your three newest posts, then pay once and pick “Ghost” as the destination. That sets the new URL pattern used for internal links and the redirect file.

Download the ZIP. Keep your Wix site live until the import below is finished.

2. Prepare the Ghost upload

Open the ZIP and go into the ghost/ folder. It contains ghost-import.json and a content/images/decamp/ folder.

Select both and compress them into one zip (on a Mac: select → right-click → Compress). The zip should have ghost-import.json and content/ at its top level.

3. Import into Ghost

In Ghost Admin go to Settings → Advanced → Import/Export → Import content, and upload the zip you just made.

Ghost creates the posts and pages, uploads the images to your Ghost storage, and links categories and tags. Posts keep their original publish dates.

Pages come in as Ghost pages. Rebuild the layout of key pages (home, about) in your Ghost theme. The text and images are already there.

4. Redirect your old Wix URLs

Wix post URLs look like /post/my-slug. Ghost uses /my-slug/. Upload redirects/ghost-redirects.yaml in Ghost Admin → Settings → Labs → Redirects, or use the CSV if you host Ghost behind Nginx (nginx.conf is included too).
